The Real Talk Journey

It’s hard to believe that our first ever event was 1st August 2020, almost 2 years ago.

Since then, we have taken Real Talk to 7 cities:
  • Pōneke – Aug 2020
  • Tauranga – Oct 2020
  • Porirua – March 2021
  • Whanganui – April 2021
  • New Plymouth – May 2021
  • Whakatū – June – 2021
  • Rotorua- May 2022
We have appeared in numerous newspaper articles, online articles, The Herald, Radio stations across the country, Te Ao Māori news… All with the focus of getting our rangatahi to understand that they are worth it, they are worthy of anything the wish, and that we LOVE them.

We wrote and launched a Real Talk book in November 2021, containing 11 different stories from beautiful souls who share their Real Talk with us in order to plant seeds for our next generation to utilise.  We have given away over 400 books throughout the motu, and we aim to giveaway another 1,000 by the end of 2022.

We have had fundraising events to raise money to help us to give our rangatahi FREE Real Talk books.
  • Whakatū – January 2022
  • Pōneke – March 2022
We have 5 more Real Talk events planned for 2022:
  • Napier – 20th August 2022
  • Waikato – 10th September 2022
  • Horowhenua – 24th September 2022
  • Invercargill- 15th October 2022
  • Tāmaki – 12th November 2022
Our Real Talk whānau is growing, we have implemented systems, structure and support to help cope with the growing demand.  Our kaimahi work tirelessly for the love of our rangatahi and whānau.  Anyone that is connected with Real Talk knows the magic we create, and the growth that transpires for all.

We have had and will continue to have the most incredible kaikōrero, including our rangatahi who share their own Real Talk kōrero with us, in order to help change and ultimately save lives.

We have coached and mentored Kaikōrero and rangatahi and provided support and a sense of comfort and security – they know we have their backs, ALWAYS!

We have given away over 1200 free tickets to rangatahi and will giveaway over 1200 more before the end of this year.

We have received hundreds of messages around how our Real Talk events are making a positive impact, changing views, and helping to save lives – which is why we do what we do!

We have given away hundreds of prizes to our audiences, with the love and support of our generous sponsors.

We have requests from all over the motu to bring Real Talk to their rohe, so we have so much more important mahi to do, and we will keep going for as long as we are needed.

As I take the time to reflect on all the magic we have created, I remind myself that we are blessed to be on this journey, making a difference in this world.   If you can dream it, you can absolutely do it #realtalk

Ps if you want us to come to your town… send us an email!

Ngā mihi, Tania and the Real Talk Whānau ❤️
